 1942年的冀中平原、日本宪兵汉奸、伪警察等数百人包围了东王庄，敌人架起机枪疯狂扫射，横尸遍野、惨不忍睹。闻讯赶来的武工队员们按捺不住心中的怒火，纷纷向队长魏强请战，为乡亲们报仇。魏强率领武工队化装成伪警察进城，巧妙地活捉了中闾镇伪警察所所长哈巴狗，并将其带回东王庄准备公审。趁人们欢庆中，哈巴狗跑回保定城，向夜袭队长刘魁胜报告，却见刘魁胜正在调戏自己的老婆小红云。哈巴狗给刘魁胜一个嘴巴，刘魁胜反咬一口，诬哈巴狗私通武工队。为了保住命，哈巴狗只好把老婆让给了刘魁胜。保定南关火车战长小本次郎也对哈巴狗老婆小红云垂涎三尺，他派段长万长顺去请小红云到站上说书，小红云不肯屈服，用剪刀割腕自杀身亡。刘魁胜对日本人敢怒而不敢言，魏强利用他们的矛盾，夜袭车站将小本次郎和段长万长顺杀死。松田将他们的死归咎于刘魁胜，杀死了他，并命哈巴狗任夜袭队长。最后武工队扫平了侵袭队，击毙了哈巴狗，又炸毁了宪兵队总部为乡亲们报了仇，大长了人民抗日的士气。
