　　大内库藏武功秘笈《葵花宝典》失窃。东厂主管太监古今福（刘洵饰）率千户欧阳全（张学友饰）等，南下调查辞官锦衣卫林镇南，同时收用“五岳盟主”左冷禅（元华饰）外围策应。华山派大弟子令狐冲（许冠杰饰）与师妹岳灵珊（叶童饰）奉师命增援林镇南，无奈两人实力不济，领得林镇南遗嘱后遁走，二人于路先后巧遇顺风堂堂主刘正风（午马饰）、日月神教长老曲洋（林正英饰）、华山派风清扬，获传《笑傲江湖》曲谱和独孤九剑。　　各路人马为《葵花宝典》纷纷聚于苗人地界，欧阳全与左冷禅争功不下，遂假扮林平之混入华山派一行。令狐冲结识日月神教任盈盈（张敏饰）与蓝凤凰（袁洁莹饰），因曲洋之关系得其协助。古今福与岳不群为《葵花宝典》大打出手，令狐冲不忍一班师兄弟受牵连愤而使出独孤九剑，始明了“笑傲江湖”真意。　　本片根据金庸同名小说改编。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
